Emancipation Month of Activities The Department of Culture in the Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Sustainable Development and Culture continues with its key programme of activities for Emancipation Month after the grand opening at the” One Family Concert” held in commemoration of 50th anniversary of CARICOM and Emancipation Day Celebration held on August 1st 2023.

As the department continues to collaborate with the various community groups and institutions, during Emancipation month the remaining activities include:

  • Community Caravan – Layou -Saturday 19th August – 5:00pm
  • Community Caravan – Greggs -Wednesday 23rd August -5:00pm
  • Community Caravan – Union Island – Saturday 26th August -5:00pm
  • Habinaha Garifuna Closing Ceremony – Heritage Square – Thursday

31s August -1:00pm This year’s Emancipation Month of Activities is celebrated under the theme: Embracing the past; forging ahead in the future.
